The Month That Was….
At the beginning of each month I shall be writing a post about what has happened in my world of photography for the month that has just gone, if that makes sense!
There will be a number of sections to each monthly post, which you can read about below or just scroll to the bottom of the page and click on a month.
Feel free to leave any comments.
This will include all pieces that have been completed for that month, all grouped together. We are all busy and Facebook doesn’t do a very good job at getting posts to everyone so this will be a ‘one stop shop’ where you can catch up on new pieces.
In Progress And Resting
These will be pieces that are either in the process of being worked on or are ‘resting’.
I have the habit of working on more than one piece at a time, constantly flipping from one to the other, until they are very near completion. Only then will I concentrate on one piece and one piece only.
Once I ‘finish’ a piece I always let it sit and ‘rest’, at least for a few days, during which time I don’t look at it at all. Coming back to a piece with fresh eyes will often reveal things that ‘are not right’ and that I want to change. Most times, I never see these when I am working on the piece but they will be shouting at me when I come back for a fresh look.
Now For Something Completely Different
I believe it’s important to always keep pushing yourself and learning, it’s the only way to grow. This is even more so when you have developed your own style. It’s easy to stay within those boundaries but if you are not careful, instead of creatively progressing, you end up creatively stagnating.
This is why I still like to shoot and edit outside of my usual genre and style. Venturing out of your comfort zone can be one of the best ways to grow and keep learning.
So, this section will be for work that you wouldn’t ordinarily see from me and pieces that I am playing around with for fun and learning.
This will be for any other news.
