Paul Barson is an award winning, internationally published, self-taught, fine art photographer specializing in unique, dreamlike, magical, poetical and emotive floral portrait artworks.

Now living in Michigan, USA, Paul was born and raised in England. It was the natural beauty of the English countryside that inspired Paul and started him on his photographic journey as a young boy with a 110-film camera.

Over the years he worked up to a 35mm SLR film camera, where he learnt the technical aspects of photography and then later into the digital realm of DSLR.

Paul creates floral artwork unlike any others with his creative use of color, focus and primarily light/shadow combined into a unique style that has taken over a year to develop and that he continues to refine and evolve.

Paul uses a modest Canon DSLR and macro lens together with his processing technique to give each subject depth, beauty, soul, life and story all of it’s own. Making the ordinary, extraordinary and unique.

Paul’s work has been internationally published, appeared in a number of magazines, received numerous awards and continues to be sold as fine art prints.

I have to admit I only found one or two landscapes, which was surprising.  When I look at Paul s work there is a body of it, not something that you find when you look at mine.  He is very dedicated to his macro work.  I like too many different types of photography, so my work seems all over place in comparison.
